Dis-covering YOU
CANCELLED DUE TO BEREAVEMENT
DIS-COVERING YOU: a 2-day workshop of self-development through your voice
What kind of life do you lead? Are you actually LEADING your life?
Do you experience personal fulfilment? Are you happy with who you are and what you do?
Are you aware of the strong link between your voice and your vocation - the connection between speaking your truth and walking your true path?
Often, the education system schools us in ways which are unhelpful to our real natures, even suppresses our creative spirit and fails to ignite ‘the divine spark’, that profound uniqueness in each one of us which develops our talents.
This workshop explores our true spirit through the human voice. Our voices are vital instruments of expression. They communicate energy and commitment.
A dull voice and indistinct speech puts off our interest; a clear, enthusiastic flow when someone speaks excites our attention. How easy it is to employ a person of obvious vitality. Who wants to offer work to someone apparently unenthusiastic?
There is a strong link between our voices and what really moves us deep within; our passion. We know this in moments of strong feeling: love, anger etc. If we lack the enthusiasm of our true purpose, we are out of touch with our passion in life, and even for life.
In which case, we may not know our true work, and true worth. Indeed, our very personal integrity is as stake.
THIS WORKSHOP is for those who:
Want to find their true voice
Want to develop their voices as instruments of personal potential
Experience a lack of personal excitement or fulfilment in their lives
Feel stuck and want to find a way forward, or make better progress
Feel the need to improve their speech and ability to communicate
Need to be more assertive, even need to be heard.
Workshop Leaders:
Christopher Garvey is the Principal of Artemis School of Speech and Drama in West Sussex and his main interest has been in speech and speech production.
Francis Standish has substantial experience working with people in a variety of learning situations, in both the public sector and in commercial corporations.
